Aurora Labs Limited (ASX:A3D), aka A3D, is launching a Print Campaign to demonstrate system reliability, quality, and repeatability, as part of the Company’s active commercialization strategy. The campaign is supported by The Barnes Global Advisors (TBGA) and aims to demonstrate A3D’s technology as capable of repeatedly producing printed material that meets draft SAE International aerospace standards AMS7039 and AMS7032.
Heidelberg Instruments, through the recently acquired Multiphoton Optics, presented the new two-photon polymerization MPO 100 3D printer, a multi-user tool that combines both the requirements of 3D lithography with resolutions in the 100 nm range and 3D microprinting with structure heights of over one centimeter, all in one device.
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation is releasing two models of the new AZ600 digital wire-laser metal 3D printer on March 1st. The new systems work by melting welding wire, instead of powder, with a laser beam to create high-quality 3D structures. These products build on the initial introduction by Mitsubishi Electric of a unique, proprietary dot forming AM technology back in 2018.
3D Systems has entered into an agreement to acquire Titan Additive LLC, aka Titan Robotics, the Colorado-based designer and fabricator of large-format, industrial 3D printers. As a market leader in pellet-based polymer extrusion 3D printing technology, and the only manufacturer offering hybrid tool head configurations, Titan Robotics provides solutions to its customers by developing application-specific processes using Titan’s unique large-format additive manufacturing (LFAM) technology. With this acquisition, 3D Systems will expand the strength and breadth of its polymer AM solutions portfolio to address new applications in markets such as Foundries, Consumer Goods, Service Bureaus, Transportation & Motorsports, Aerospace & Defense, and General Manufacturing.
EOS has made known that Prototal Industries, Scandinavia’s largest and most specialized additive manufacturing company, has installed a state-of-the-art EOS P 500 system for plastic laser sintering at Prototal GTP in Ystad. The P 500 system in Ystad will complement the group’s existing machine park which already has two EOS P 500 systems installed at 1zu1 in Austria. The automated manufacturing platform from EOS supports Prototal’s strategy to meet the requests and demands for industrial 3D printing of plastic parts on an industrial scale.
US-based 3D printer manufacturer Fusion3 launched the new EDGE professional 3D printer. Priced at only $6,999, the Fusion3 EDGE provides many capabilities usually found in significantly more expensive industrial 3D printers. Reimagined from the ground up, EDGE combines high speed, large build volume, printing quality, tight tolerances when printing high-temperature materials, ease of use, and durability for 24×7 operation.
While new additive manufacturing machines are brought to market regularly, it isn’t often that you hear about a new AM process. So you can imagine how interested we were to speak to Israeli metal AM company Tritone about its recently developed MoldJet Technology, which was first unveiled at Formnext 2019. The technology is being brought to market in the Tritone DOMINANT system and offers a new solution for medium-volume production (tens of thousands of parts per year) of metal components. Incus GmbH, an Austrian 3D-printing manufacturer specialized in Lithography-based Metal Manufacturing (LMM), closed a Series A investment round in Q4 2021, also including existing investor AM Ventures. The company is also bringing onboard industry veteran Adrian Keppler, former CEO of world market leader in Powder Bed Fusion systems EOS GmbH, as an investor and growth consultant.
