BCN3D unveils the Omega I60 high-speed industrial FFF 3D printer Decision Makers

BCN3D, a renowned manufacturer of 3D printing solutions, has unveiled its latest product, the BCN3D Omega I60. Launched at a special event at its Barcelona headquarters, the new all-in-one industrial FFF 3D printer is designed to create large, sturdy prototypes and end-use components, with a particular emphasis on tooling, jigs, and fixtures.

The Omega I60 incorporates a refined version of BCN3D’s unique Independent Dual Extrusion (IDEX) technology, enhancing productivity by employing both toolheads concurrently. It can print at rapid speeds up to 300mm/s and features an enormous 60L print volume and a heated chamber that can reach 70ºC, facilitating the creation of large, robust parts using engineering-grade materials. The printer also includes a temperature and humidity-regulated material operations system, which prepares filaments for printing.

Celebrating its 11th year in operation, BCN3D has distributed over 10,000 units globally and developed partnerships with major corporations like Nissan, Saint Gobain, and Prodrive. The company also introduced the ground-breaking IDEX technology in 2015 and the innovative VLM™ technology last year.

The BCN3D Omega I60 offers several advanced features including HAQ-XY Kinematics motion architecture for precise control, a robust extrusion system with industry-leading components, and built-in accelerometers with 32-bit electronics for efficient high-speed manufacturing. Its active heated chamber helps manufacture engineering polymers by maintaining optimal temperature, thereby ensuring excellent dimensional accuracy and mechanical durability for the printed part. The printer also boasts a massive print volume, enabling it to produce large technical parts.

An integrated Material Operations System (MOS) offers an all-in-one experience, allowing control over humidity and temperature. It can also recover compromised material and preheat filament before printing. Additionally, an XYZ Autocalibration system, using piezoelectric sensors, guarantees correct first-layer adhesion by measuring multiple points to adjust printing surface height and offset between nozzles.

The printer is suitable for several applications such as tooling, jigs and fixtures, short-run production, large prototyping, and end-use parts. It supports a wide variety of materials specially chosen for these applications, including Omega Proto, Omega Impact ASA, Omega Resistant Nylon, Omega Tooling CF, and Omega Support.

For filament selection, customers can choose from BCN3D Filaments, the Open Filament Network, or use custom materials to create their own printing profiles at no extra cost.

To give customers an opportunity to experience the BCN3D Omega I60, BCN3D has introduced the Omega Launchpad Program. Participants in this program can collaborate closely with a dedicated additive manufacturing applications engineer to develop custom solutions specifically for their organizations.

In addition to the Omega I60, BCN3D has also updated its Epsilon Series and announced a flexible build platform for all Epsilon and Sigma D25 3D printers. Furthermore, BCN3D will release its Stratos 2.0 software, which offers an enhanced user interface and new features.

The BCN3D Omega I60 is priced at €19,995 / $21,995 (excluding VAT), with the first units shipping on September 15th, 2023.
