New Meltio Robot Cell offers large scale wire-laser DED 3D Printer Hardware

Meltio, a specialist in affordable wire-laser metal deposition additive manufacturing technology (Directed Energy Deposition, DED), launched the new Meltio Robot Cell, a turn key metal additive manufacturing solution featuring an industrial robotic arm and the recently launched slicing software Meltio Space. The new hardware fits within the Spanish company’s vision to offer a reliable solution for industries around the world, reducing costs and improving manufacturing processes. This new system allows standard metal 3D printing starting from a build plate in a factory as well as part repair or feature addition.

3D Systems insources manufacturing of additional printer platforms 3D Printer Hardware

3D Systems has completed its strategic initiative to insource the manufacturing of two more strategic printer platforms. The company transferred this activity from two electronics manufacturing services (EMS) partners, with which 3D Systems maintains commercial relationships to expand the adoption of these platforms globally. As a result of insourcing, the company now controls the entire manufacturing process from design to production – leveraging its deep technical and application expertise to deliver products of superior quality and innovation to its customers. Additionally, with this increased level of manufacturing process control, 3D Systems has matched or improved production quality and reduced lead times to meet customer demand. This includes the ability to be nimble and adapt solutions to meet customers’ unique needs with unmatched additive manufacturing capabilities and printing process customization options.

Raise3D’s versatile approach to superior metal FFF Additive Manufacturing

When Raise3D first announced its MetalFuse solution for end-to-end metal fused filament fabrication in late 2021, it became one of a small number of companies in the AM industry to specialize in metal extrusion technologies. Today, the company’s solution is used for quickly and safely producing all sorts of metal products, from jigs and fixtures, to functional parts and prototypes, to small-batch end-use components. As we’ll see in more detail, Raise3D’s technology really excels when it comes to precision. This is enabled due to a combination of hardware and software optimizations, as well as a deep collaboration with materials developer BASF Forward AM. Let’s take a look at how the company’s Forge1 3D printer and MetalFuse workflow stand out within the metal AM and—even more specifically—metal FFF segments.

Today we are making 3D printed Pasta alla Norma Food 3D Printing

Last month, I bought a box of 3D printed pasta, Spaghetto 3D, from BluRhapsody. I promised I would do an unboxing and cook a meal with it for VoxelMatters’ VM Focus on 3D printed foods this month. It took some time. I finally got down to it, with a modern, high-tech twist on one of my favorite dishes: Pasta alla Norma, one of the most traditional pasta dishes of the rich Sicilian culinary tradition.

Axtra3D’s Hybrid PhotoSynthesis delivers on scale, speed & resolution 3D Printer Hardware

It’s not every day we get to cover a new 3D printing technology. Companies release software upgrades and new hardware models, but a new technology on the market is something of a special event. That’s why we’re excited to be exploring a new additive technology developed by Axtra3D called Hybrid PhotoSynthesis (HPS), said to “transcend the limits of SLA, DLP and LCD.”
