Puredyne refines bioprinting process Bioprinting

When 3D bioprinting with organic substances, it is hard to overstate the importance of not damaging the cells. Print heads from Puredyne, a brand of the established dispensing specialist ViscoTec, already prioritize this through demonstrably high-precision and low-shear dispensing, although the printing results are always dependent on the dispensing needle used, of which there are many available on the market, including the ones from Japanese manufacturer, Tecdia.

StarHagen joins the Velo3D Contract Manufacturer Network Aerospace

StarHagen, a provider of high-quality production parts for aerospace companies, has joined the Velo3D Contract Manufacturer Network with the purchase of an end-to-end solution from the additive manufacturing technology company. The Sapphire printer acquired by StarHagen is calibrated to print in Inconel 625, a nickel-based superalloy designed for high strength, and to be resistant to high temperatures and corrosion.

Bosch acquires two SLM500 systems 3D Printer Hardware

SLM Solutions has recently installed two SLM500 printers at Robert Bosch GmbH Nuremberg (Bosch), the multinational German technology and engineering company. Bosch will utilize its new systems to produce parts for its powertrain technology, including custom aluminium parts for hydrogen technology and electric drive productions at their 3D-MPC Manufacturing and Processing Center in Nuremberg, Germany. The centre is responsible for producing components and parts using additive manufacturing for prototype and serial applications.

Brinter Launches New Visco Bio Printing Heads with Puredyne Bioprinting

Brinter Launches New Visco Bio Printing Heads with Puredyne Bioprinting

Finnish bioprinting startup Brinter released the new extrusion-based Visco Bio medical print head for its Brinter bioprinters. The new modular print heads enable nearly zero dead volume, meaning that expensive medical grade material waste is cut to a minimal level. The Finnish company continues to develop and implement new features to its device on the back of a strong first year’s growth year in 2021.

Fraunhofer IGD scientists develop new process to avoid stair-step artifacts 3D Printing Processes

Scientists at Fraunhofer IGD – Mostafa Morsy Abdelkader Morsy, Alan Brunton, and Philipp Urban – whose ‘3D Printing Technology’ department is responsible for the creation of Cuttlefish, have devised a purely geometric and algorithmic method for the elimination of stair-step artifacts in multi-material 3D printing. To avoid quantization errors, the surface of the object is modulated with a high-frequency signal. This results in geometrically accurate and color-true surfaces. The research team has set down their findings in a paper titled ‘Shape Dithering for 3D Printing’, which will be published to coincide with SIGGRAPH, the premier conference, and exhibition on computer graphics and interactive techniques – where the research will be presented by the lead author, Mostafa Morsy Abdelkader Morsy.
