Nexa3D Has Started Shipping its XiP 3D Desktop Printer

Nexa3D is now shipping its market-ready XiP 3D desktop printers to customers in the US and Canada. Since introducing its first Lubricant Sublayer Photo-curing (LSPc) system for the desktop at Formnext in November 2021 – the product’s waitlist has extended to hundreds of product designers and creators looking to increase the throughput and efficiency of their desktop 3D printing.

“We designed the XiP to fill a need in the market,” said Michael Currie, Vice President, and General Manager of the Desktop Business Unit. “The last thing this industry needs is another me-too desktop 3D printer, so we did something very different. Every aspect of the XiP was thought and rethought to heighten capabilities, increase productivity, and eliminate the pain points of other resins systems out there today. It’s a hugely exciting time for our team, and we can’t wait to hear what people are printing now that they can access industrial strength at desktop size.”

Key XiP 3D printer specs include a large build volume (X: 195 mm, Y: 115 mm, Z: 210 mm), 4.8 liter print volume, high-resolution, 4K monochrome 9.3” LCD screen, 52 µm pixel size, and a 50 µm / 100 µm / 200 µm layer thickness.

The ultrafast LSPc technology enables more productive, and accurate, 3D printing compared to other 3D printing technologies. The XiP translates this capability, proven on the industrial NXE 400 and NXE 200 systems, to the desktop. With a larger build area, 7x faster print speeds, and more efficient post-processing than comparable commercial technologies, LSPc empowers users to “create at the speed of thought.”

“The XiP desktop 3D printer is a truly exciting machine, and I’ve been excited to incorporate it into my company’s prototyping and rapid product manufacturing workflow,” said Rob Wiggins, Owner of Get It Done Dudes LLC. “The effort and attention to detail that the team at Nexa 3D have incorporated into the production of the XIP, along with its software and key features – speed, quality, and ease of use – are thrilling. I’ve used a lot of desktop 3D printers in my work before but there’s always been some piece missing, whether it be quality and materials to match speed or some kind of limitation in workflow. The XiP helped me gain ground in creating Hollywood-quality designs like nothing else. This system is something special, and I can’t wait to make more magic with it.”

A sturdy aluminum enclosure and reusable material containers bring a sleek look, and sustainable mindset, to the XiP – while also precluding the need for specialized waste streams. The industrial system is designed for long-term and upgradeable usage in high-volume environments.

For every XiP 3D printer sold, Nexa3D will plant 10 trees in its Nexa3D Forest in Tanzania, built on a partnership with ForestNation and in fulfillment of its promise to digitize the world’s supply chains sustainably.

Every XiP 3D desktop printer comes with a tool kit comprising hand tools, and a roll-out clean work surface. Accessories sold with the XiP extend productivity in an integrated office or lab environment. These include a Wash+Cure Station (for all-in-one post-processing at the desktop), xClean Part Washing Solution (more environmentally friendly than traditional IPA solutions), and an XiP AiR Desktop Filter and Purifier (for protection of the operator’s health).

Packages for the XiP have been developed for the specific needs of professional users – from individual creators to low- to mid-volume dental labs, to teams of industrial designers. Each package is designed to enable new users to set up and be printing quickly, including all necessary equipment, accessories, and consumables. Package pricing starts under $8,000.

Bundle options include the XiP Individual Package, the XiP Dental Package, the XiP Team Package, and the XiP Team Dual Package. Nexa3D’s XiP is currently shipping to the US and Canada. Global availability will be opening soon through direct channels, as well as select reselling partners.
