Freemelt has received an order for a Freemelt ONE system from a company in the United States of America with an order value close to $0.5 million US. The EB-PBF system will be used for material development for new applications, and it will be delivered during the first quarter in 2022.
ACEO (aka ACEO3D), the silicone 3D printing service based of German silicone giant Wacker Chemie, is shutting down at the end of 2021. The company took orders until December 10th and from now on will only work on projects on a case-by-case basis. Austrian company voestalpine has been engaged in 3D printing with metals for many years, mainly as a provider of metal 3D printing services and metal powder materials for PBF and DED technologies. These metals are already being used at its own 3D printing and research centers around the world. Now the steel and technology Group has started operating a giant sand 3D printer for heavy steel castings at its site in Traisen, Lower Austria. However, a unique and interesting aspect is that the machine is not from European and US leaders such as voxeljet and ExOne but from Chinese company Kocel Machinery.
Formlabs launched the Form 3+ and Form 3B+ printers, their fastest 3D printers to date, at CES. The machines are already available and shipping globally. Leading Space Coast metal AM service provider Morf3D is celebrating the new year by taking delivery of two new SLM 500 3D printers while waiting for one more system, the top-of-the-line NXG XII 600, to be installed in the first half of 2022. According to Morf3D founder Ivan Madera, the machines will be running aluminum and another currently undisclosed alloy.
