Carl Calabria leaves Formlabs, joins Digital Alloys as CTO AM Industry

Digital Alloys, a Massachusetts-based 3D printing company, has announced the appointment of Carl Calabria as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Calabria has worked in the additive manufacturing industry for years, holding positions such as the Head of Engineering at Formlabs, and engineering leadership positions at Markforged, iRobot, Sonos and Avid. At Digital Alloys, Calabria will help the company to accelerate the commercial release of its Joule Printing metal AM technology.

Hamilton Holdings signs with Saint-Gobain to set up Construction AM Hub in Singapore Construction 3D Printing

Singapore-based construction 3D printing company Hamilton Holdings has teamed up with Ang Cheng Guan Construction (ACG) and Saint-Gobain to establish Hamilton Labs Additive Manufacturing & Robotics Hub and to drive 3D concrete printing and digital construction in Singapore. The Hub will see the deployment of robotics, automation technologies and advanced manufacturing methodologies.

Rösler AM Solutions and HP developing automated post-processing equipment for MJF Additive Manufacturing

Last week, surface finishing expert Rösler consolidated its additive manufacturing activities under its new AM Solutions brand name. In the wake of that announcement, AM Solutions has announced a cooperation agreement with HP focused on the development of automated post-processing equipment for 3D printed parts. The companies will leverage their respective technological expertise to offer a scalable 3D printing post-processing workflow for industrial applications. As part of the cooperation agreement, AM Solutions has also acquired HP’s new Jet Fusion 5200 series 3D printing solution for its 3D printing service division.

MakerBot kicks off METHOD Materials Development Program AM Industry

Stratasys-owned 3D printer manufacturer MakerBot this week launched the METHOD Materials Development Program, which brings together partners from across the additive industry to qualify filaments for its METHOD 3D printer platform. MakerBot has also debuted the new MakerBot LABS Experimental Extruder for the METHOD platform, which will unlock compatibility with a wider range of engineering-grade materials.

SPEE3D Metal 3D Printing Technology to be Deployed by the Royal Australian Navy AM Industry

The Australian Government today announced a $1.5 million investment into a two-year pilot of SPEE3D technology for the Royal Australian Navy including the deployment of a WarpSPEE3D 3D metal printer. Cold spray 3D printing technology developed by the Darwin, Australia, based company will be deployed by the Royal Australian Navy in a world-first trial that will streamline the maintenance of patrol vessels.
