Quickparts, an on-demand manufacturing services offering custom 3D printing and traditional manufacturing capabilities, and a portfolio company of Trilantic North America formed in partnership with George Votis, Avi Reichental and Ziad Abou, has acquired Xcentric Mold & Engineering (“Xcentric”), an innovator of on-demand digital manufacturing. Terms of the transaction, considered to be highly strategic, were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Clinton Township, Michigan and founded in 1996, Xcentric provides a wide breadth of quick-turn digital injection molding and CNC solutions, from rapid prototyping to product creation at scale. With nearly 100 full-time employees and 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space, Xcentric will expand Quickparts’ capabilities and expertise to deliver injection molding, CNC machining and other critical services to thousands of customers across the globe.
This acquisition complements Quickparts’ current manufacturing offerings and will support the company’s continued growth and proficiency via improved U.S.-based, in-house, and quick turnaround production for customers. Xcentric offers both Additive Manufacturing and Injection Molding, which enables the company to recommend the best approach for each phase of a product development project. During the ideation, design, and form/fit phases, Xcentric can deliver 3D printed concept models. During the validation and bridge production, the company can either 3D Print or injection mold depending on the production process, and finally, for production, parts are typically injection molded.

This flexibility and technology-agnostic approach sets Xcentric apart from competitors. With respect to additive manufacturing capabilities, Xcentric has previously partnered with Stratasys Direct Manufacturing, enabling the to expand capabilities to provide even more 3D printing technologies, materials, and capacity for customers seeking 3D printing solutions.
