Nikon to acquire SLM Solutions AM Industry

SLM Solutions Group AG (“SLM Solutions”, “SLM” or the “Company”) and Nikon Corporation (“Nikon”) have entered into an Investment Agreement in relation to a voluntary public takeover offer that Nikon intends to launch for all outstanding shares of SLM at a cash consideration of EUR 20 per share. Nikon, a manufacturer of – among other things – tomography systems for NDT, had previously entered the metal AM service market by acquiring a majority stake in Morf3D, a leading California-based AM company serving the aerospace industry and a major user of SLM Solutions technologies (among others).

This acquisition expands Carbon’s current software capabilities to include topology optimization. Loctite materials qualified for Desktop Metal’s Xtreme 8K Materials

Desktop Metal, Inc., a global leader in additive manufacturing technologies for mass production, has expanded its partnership with Henkel, on photopolymer material development, beginning with the qualification of Henkel’s Loctite 3D IND405 Black and Loctite 3D 3843 for use on the Xtreme 8K, the world’s largest Digital Light Processing (DLP) printer for high-volume production of end-use parts.

Lithoz reports most successful first-half in the company’s history Additive Manufacturing

3D Systems’ Medical Advisory Board adds two new doctors Medical AM

3D Systems has appointed Dr. Toby Cosgrove, former president and chief executive officer of the Cleveland Clinic, and Dr. Bon Ku, director of the Health Design Lab at Thomas Jefferson University, as the fourth and fifth members of the company’s recently established Medical Advisory Board (MAB). Dr. Cosgrove and Dr. Ku will join former Health & Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, Dr. Stephen K. Klasko, and former US Secretary of Veterans Affairs David J.
