NextGenAM facility begins AM production at new plant in Varel, Germany Industrial Additive Manufacturing

Regardless of the enormous challenges it still needs to overcome, and the investments it will still require, the next generation of additive manufacturing technologies for automated, optimized, high scale production is coming. Within this scenario, the first NextGenAM facility in this collaborative project has been put into operation at Premium AEROTEC’s technology center in Varel. Aerostructures supplier Premium AEROTEC, automotive manufacturer Daimler, and 3D printing system manufacturer EOS have joined forces to fundamentally develop the next generation of additive manufacturing. The goal of the project is to develop a complete production cell capable of manufacturing aluminum components for the automotive and aerospace industries.

Nano Dimension APAC expansion continues with key cooperation agreement AM Industry

As part of the company’s continuing growth and worldwide expansion, Nano Dimension is expanding its Asia Pacific market coverage. Nano Dimension (HK) Limited, the company fully owned, newly established subsidiary, is entering into a strategic cooperation agreement with Shandong Guohui Investment Co., Ltd. (“Shandong Guohui”). The deal is of one of significant importance for the Israeli startup, as the provincial platform company owned by the Shandong Province State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission has a registered capital of more than $4 billion.

Medical 3D printing pioneer Andy Christensen joins Dimension Inx AM Industry

Dimension Inx, an innovative 3D printing material developer, has established a new advisory board and is introducing its first advisory board member: Andy Christensen. Working with high profile AM companies, Mr. Christensen has spent his entire career focused on developing and expanding the medical applications of 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing. From 2000 to 2014 he was the Founder and President of Medical Modeling Inc., a medical device-focused 3D Printing service bureau based in Golden, Colorado.

After the challenges experienced with its own Ember 3D printer, CAD giant Autodesk is focusing much of its efforts on harnessing the potential of 3D printing hardware through its software tools and high-profile partnerships with companies working on some of the most advanced AM technologies. The latest Autodesk AMSYSTEMS partnership focuses on the development of next-generation multi-material/multi-technology AM equipment.

Makelab further automates 3D printing service with AMFG software 3D Printing Service Providers

Makelab, a Brooklyn-based 3D printing service bureau, is partnering with automation software specialist AMFG to implement the latter’s software into its workflow for easier and more accessible 3D printing. Makelab says its adoption of AMFG’s software platform will also help it to increase automation and streamline its manufacturing operations, which will help it to manage a growing number of clients and projects.
