About Project
The low-poly fox miniature, crafted with PA 11 CF nylon using SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) technology, is a testament to the incredible possibilities of 3D printing. This beautifully designed fox features a faceted, geometric pattern that brings out the intricate details of its form. Every angle and edge is sharply defined, showcasing the precision and sophistication achievable with modern 3D printing techniques.
Design and Printing Quality
The fox's design is a marvel of minimalist artistry, with its low-poly structure giving it a modern and sleek appearance. The PA 11 CF nylon material used in this print provides excellent durability and flexibility, ensuring that the miniature is not only visually appealing but also robust enough to withstand handling. The surface finish, while not as smooth as resin prints, retains a unique texture that adds to the character of the piece. The high-resolution print quality ensures that even the smallest details are well-defined, making this fox miniature a perfect blend of form and function.
Understanding SLS Technology
Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is a cutting-edge 3D printing method that uses a high-power laser to fuse powdered material layer by layer. The process begins with a thin layer of nylon powder spread across the build platform. The laser then selectively sinters (melts) the powder according to the 3D model's specifications. After one layer is complete, a new layer of powder is spread, and the process repeats until the entire object is formed. SLS technology is renowned for its ability to produce complex geometries with high precision and excellent mechanical properties, making it a preferred choice for functional prototypes and production parts.

Solution
- Step 1: The 3D model of the low-poly fox was designed using CAD software.
- Step 2: The design file was uploaded to the SLS 3D printer.
- Step 3: A thin layer of PA 11 CF nylon powder was spread across the build platform.
- Step 4: The high-power laser was directed to sinter the powder according to the design specifications, fusing the particles together.
- Step 5: Another layer of nylon powder was spread over the previously sintered layer.
- Step 6: The sintering process was repeated, layer by layer, until the entire fox miniature was formed.
- Step 7: The completed print was allowed to cool down within the build chamber.
- Step 8: The printed fox was removed from the build platform and excess powder was carefully brushed off.
- Step 9: The miniature was further cleaned using compressed air or other cleaning tools to ensure all residual powder was removed.
- Step 10: Any necessary post-processing, such as light sanding or polishing, was performed to enhance the surface finish.
