Challenge

The challenge was to reproduce multiple small chibi characters with fine printed patterns, delicate facial expressions, hair color gradients, and fragile accessories while keeping the overall forms clean and recognizable.

Solution

• Step 1: The character models were checked before production, including the facial features, hair ornaments, horns, weapons, clothing patterns, and other small raised details.
• Step 2: The full-color 3D files were prepared for WJP printing, and the color data was reviewed so that gradients, printed patterns, eye details, and accessory colors could be reproduced correctly.
• Step 3: The figurines were printed using WJP full-color 3D printing, where photopolymer materials were jetted and UV-cured layer by layer to form the colored models directly from the digital data.
• Step 4: Support material was removed after printing, and delicate areas such as the hair loops, headdresses, small weapons, and costume edges were carefully cleaned.
• Step 5: The printed figurines were inspected to confirm that the facial expressions, costume graphics, color transitions, and small accessories were clearly reproduced.
