Solution

  • Step 1: Designing. The digital models of the Chinese traditional auspicious lion miniatures were created, incorporating details to serve as paperweights and to exhibit an antique effect.
  • Step 2: Preparing the Printer. The ColorJet 3D printer was prepared, ensuring it was clean and functional.
  • Step 3: Loading Materials. The core material and binder were loaded into the printer. The core material consisted of a special powder suitable for creating full-color models.
  • Step 4: Printing Base Layer. A thin layer of the core material was spread over the build platform with a roller.
  • Step 5: Applying Binder. Color binder was selectively jetted from inkjet print heads onto the layer of core material, causing it to solidify.
  • Step 6: Repeating Layers. The build platform was lowered, and the process of spreading the core material and applying the binder was repeated, building the model layer by layer.
  • Step 7: Coloring. One miniature was left in the bronze color resulting from the printing process, while the other was painted in aerugo color to match the design specifications.
  • Step 8: Finishing. Both miniatures were treated to add an antique effect, enhancing their traditional appearance and fulfilling their aesthetic role as auspicious animals.
