About Project

Here is a set of steampunk-themed jewelry prototypes customed for a Chinese luxury fashion jewelry brand CHJ Jewellery. They are colored with metallic paint or vacuum plated to mimic the precious metal jewelry.

Solution

• Step 1: Examine the 3D models carefully, especially whether the details exceed minimum layer heights. Some lines have to be thickened so it won’t break during printing.
• Step 2: Add supporting structures and arrange the placement in slicer software. As requested, we 3D print the models with SLA Dark Tough Resin.
• Step 3: Cut off the supports and wash the prints with IPA. Spray the print with a prime after air drying. Polish to remove the marks. Then color the parts with metallic paints.
