This automatic pet feeder aims to help your cats and dogs keep fit without eating too much food. It works with a matching electric collar, and the machine would provide a preset food amount to the pet. Here is a resin prototype of the advanced feeder device.
Solution
Step 1: The client builds the model with 3Ds Max and splits the parts based on structure and materials. The hinge structure of the food box needs to have enough clearance.
Step 2: Add supporting structures and arrange the placement in the software. 3D print the parts with SLA Generic Resin and SLA Clear Resin. Considering the scale and the desired coating effect, we set the layer thickness to 0.05mm.
Step 3: Cut off the supports and rinse with IPA, then polish to remove marks. Rinse the clear part with purple dye, sandblast it to create a frosted surface, and spray it with clear acrylic oil. Color the other parts with acrylic paints and screenprint the company logos.
Step 4: After air drying, try to assemble all the parts and adjust the allowance with sandpaper. Assemble all the parts together and fix them with superglue.
