About Project
This project transformed a dessert shop’s little chef IP into two WJP full-color 3D printed figurines. The matching designs use different dessert props to extend the same character identity into a small collectible series. They can be displayed in the shop, used in promotional photography, presented as branded gifts, or evaluated as samples for future merchandise production.
WJP was a practical choice because it produced the geometry and color information together, including small graphic details and soft color transitions from the digital files. This avoided separate molding and a complete manual-painting stage, helping the client move efficiently from a digital character design to two physical, presentation-ready samples. The process also made it easier to keep both variants visually consistent while giving each one its own theme.
The finished pair preserves the playful personality of the original IP while giving the shop a tangible brand asset that customers can photograph, collect, and remember. Solution
- Step 1: The two digital models and their color information were checked for WJP production, with particular attention to small details and thin features.
- Step 2: The files were prepared so the geometry, textures, and color boundaries could be produced together during full-color printing.
- Step 3: Both mascot variants were printed with WJP technology, creating the matching pair directly in full color without separate molds.
- Step 4: The printed parts were carefully cleaned and inspected for color coverage, detail clarity, and surface condition.
- Step 5: A clear gloss coating was sprayed over both figures according to the client’s request, creating a smooth, reflective, candy-like finish.
- Step 6: Final inspection confirmed consistent gloss, readable details, and an even overall appearance on both figurines.
