About Project

This wine display stand is specially designed for a pricey brandy. The drop-shape perfectly encompasses the wine bottle, and the embedded LED light can fully illuminate the liquid and present the Cognac color. The display stand has a high demand for surface finishing.

Solution

  • Step 1: Check the STL files, make sure the sizes are correct and there are no missing parts. The display stand is composed of an inner and an outer part, and they are connected by a bolt-screw structure. And there are grooves on the outer part to place the LED, so the thickness should be enough.
  • Step 2: Lay the models down in Cura and slice them. As the edges do not wrap too much, they rarely need supports, which saves a lot labor efforts on post-processing.
  • Step 3: Print the parts with SLA Durable Resin. This material mirrors production plastics like ABS and PBT, making it an ideal choice for virtually any application.
  • Step 4: Take out the prints and rinse with IPA. Polish with sandpaper and post-cure them with UV. Color the outer part with PE paint and bake it for several times to achieve the glossy effect.
