About Project

Nowadays, there are more bathroom designs for the elderly and handicapped than ever before. An engineer who works in a sanitary ware company has designed an overall solution of the restroom for elders. He entrusted us to make the scale model of the compact restroom, which is small but fully takes the safety and convenience of the elders into consideration.

This restroom has been modified with extenders that raise its height, making it more accessible for seniors that have difficulty lowering themselves, or for those transferring to wheelchairs. No matter they try to use the toilet or wash their hands, there is always a handrail that can be reached easily.

The model is printed with SLA ABS-like Resin. As the walls are annoying when painting some of the tiny components, we breakdown the model into several parts and assemble them after finish printing.

Solution

• Step 1: Inspect the 3D model offered by our client and add some revision to make it printable.
• Step 2: Print the model with an SLA 3D printer using ABS-like Resin, which ensures the model is durable in exhibitions.
• Step 3: Post-processing, like sandblasting, polishing, painting, and assembling.
