The blind box is the latest trend taking over China by storm. The expectations of the unknown and the value of the collection of the blind box figures make Gen Z Chinese young adults get addicted to designer toys.
In China, the blind box market became the testbed for toys, in which designers pitch for the chance for their babies to become viral. The above images show the printing process of the prototypes of the blind box named Animal Chorus.
The prints tilt at 45 degrees, which can be backed to the largest extent by the support structure. In this article, we introduced the design of supporting structure for FDM 3D printing, and the experience is the same for SLA 3D printing.
Solution
Step 1: Check the STL files and import them into the slicing software. Tilt the models, add support structure, and arrange the position so the SLA 3D printer can produce more products at one time.
Step 2: 3D print the models with SLA Generic Resin. Stereolithography works by using a light source to solidify liquid resins. For this technology, support structures are required to securely attach a part to the print bed and to prevent warping.
Step 3: Our technician is very careful when finishing delicate parts to avoid breaking off small features. We remove the marks and bumps with the help of small files and tweezers.
