About Project

One of the highlights of 3D printing is the ability to produce complex designs more quickly, using even fewer materials and parts to produce the same or better mechanical properties.
This is a full-color, scale-model globe of the Earth. Includes all of the continents and many of the islands and lakes that are visible from space. Everything was traced by hand, so some areas are rougher and more geometric than others. However, for the most parts, it is very accurate.

Solution

• Step 1: 3D modeling, change the texture and add the pattern.
• Step 2: 3D printing with PolyJet 3D printer in full-color resin.
• Step 3: Post-processing, includes support removal, sandblasting, and polishing.
