About Project
There are many dinosaur models on sale in the market, but most of them are in a cartoon shape and not realistic enough. A researcher who studied dinosaurs in the university has found us to make the scale model and place it as a decoration in his room.
To perfectly reflect the skin texture, we recommended using our large-format SLA 3D printer with the material SLA Generic Resin HD, and setting a layer thickness of 0.05mm. So it takes quite a long period to complete printing correspondingly. As the volume of the whole dinosaur model is about 2m*1m*0.8m, the layer thickness of 0.05mm will present extremely fine details.
Also, the painting process is quite time-consuming. Our painters cooperated to brush it, trying their best to represent all the details.
Solution
- Step 1: Examine the 3D model offered by our client to assure it can be printed successfully without breaking.
- Step 2: Add supporting structure and then print it in one piece using our large format SLA 3D printer.
- Step 3: Remove the supporting structure, clean the model and then post-cure it with UV.
- Step 4: Color the model and adjust the details with tools. Then assemble all the parts together and glue them.
