About Project

This SLS 3D printed PMM Air58 nylon mouse was designed by @pmousemods, printed by @facfox3d, and acrylic painted by our client Basil. The delicate brush strokes of the white tiger and elegant gradient colors made this custom mouse look unique and pricey!

Solution

• Step 1: First, the 3D model was broken down into layers of 0.1 mm on the computer and sent to the 3D printer.
• Step 2: Before printing, tank was filled with PA 12 powders. A 0.1 mm thick layer over the whole width was applied on a bed pressure.
• Step 3: Pre-heated the machine to about 100°C, and the laser would light the powder and increase the temperature just above the melting point of the powders.
• Step 4: After a layer was formed, the platform would lower down and produce another layer.
• Step 5: When the printing process ended, excess powder which also served as supports was removed.
• Step 6: The mouse was painted by the client with acrylic paints.
