About Project

A Chinese artist who has focused on 2D paintings recently tried to turn his iconic chubby little boy creation into 3D statues and develop some derivatives. If adjust the orientation of the models, the visible lines could be hidden in some inconspicuous places.

Solution

• Step 1: Print the models with FDM 3D printing technology using FDM PLA, which is the most cost-effective solution for this application.
• Step 2: Take the prints from the plane. Adding a raft or skirt would make this process easier.
• Step 3: Polish the prints manually with grater and sandpaper to remove the remaining marks.
• Step 4: Paint the models into desired colors.
