About Project

The tricycle is a student project designed especially for watermen. It has a large shade roof to protect the watermen from sunstroke. There are short columns on the carriage to keep the bottles stable during transportation. The rails can fold twice for the convenience of carrying bottles on the top. For this kind of prototype, SLA 3D printing is the best solution to make them.

Solution

  • Step 1: The model is just for display. The rail on one side is closed and on the other side is opened. Our engineer breaks the 3D model into the main body, the head, the shade roof. tires, rails and bottles.
  • Step 2: Arrange the placement of parts properly to print them all in one batch. Add supports for the models with a bridge or overhang structure.
  • Step 3: Print the models with SLA 3D printing technology using SLA Generic Resin. This material is cheap and suitable for fine detailed display model with a smooth surface.
  • Step 4: Post-processing which includes support removal, post-curing, washing with IPA, post-curing, priming, painting with color and metallic paints, etc.
  • Step 5: Assemble all the parts together with superglue. Spray with UV-oil.
