About Project

These models are 3D printed for an exhibition, the theme of which is the possibility of combining mechanics and animals. People keep dreaming about mechanizing humans and animals and creating biological hybrids. There are birds with jagged wings, pandas with robotic legs and transparent cabins, etc.

Solution

  • Step 1: As the sculptures are exhibited in transparent sphere boxes indoors and have no moving parts, we decide to print them in one piece except the transparent shells.
  • Step 2: Check the thickness of the models. Arrange the placement and add supporting structures in the slicing software.
  • Step 3: 3D print the parts with SLA Durable Resin and SLA Clear Resin. Then break the supports and wash with IPA.
  • Step 4: Polish the parts and spray with metallic paints with an airbrush. Then assemble the parts together.
