About Project

Immerse yourself in the world of MJF 3D printing with FacFox's full-color, scaled-down figure of a girl in a pink dress. This creation showcases the unique qualities of MJF technology, offering a luxuriously glossy finish and a surprisingly lightweight feel that maintains a sense of solidity.

A Delightful Touch

The MJF printed figure undergoes a vapor smoothing process, resulting in a stunningly glossy and slick surface that's delightful to hold. For those who appreciate lightweight yet sturdy models, MJF printing provides an unmatched tactile experience.

Vivid Colors, Slight Compromise on Detail

While MJF excels in color, with bright and high-saturation output, some subtle details may be slightly blurred. This can be observed in the circular patterns of the girl's dress and the finer features of her face.

Solution

  • Step 1: The manufacturing process was initiated with a thin layer of thermoplastic powder being spread across the build platform. A fusing agent was then selectively applied to the powder bed where the particles needed to be bonded. Following this, a detailing agent was deposited to define the color and fine features of the print.
  • Step 2: Infrared light was used to fuse the layers, with the heat causing the fusing agent to activate and bond the powder particles together. The build platform was subsequently lowered, allowing for the next layer of powder to be spread on top.
  • Step 3: This cycle of spreading powder, applying fusing and detailing agents, and fusing with infrared light was repeated until the figure reached its final height of 101.6mm. After the printing was complete, the figure was cooled and then extracted from the powder bed.
  • Step 4: The excess powder was removed, and the figure underwent a vapor smoothing process, which gave it a glossy and polished appearance. Finally, the full-color pink dress girl figure was ready, showcasing the capabilities of MJF 3D printing technology.
