About Project

A toy department store found a designer to build a rest area for their customers who wait for their orders. Young children can have fun at the tiny amusement park, and their parents can wait for the products in peace. Here we made a scaled-down model of this space, it looked like a piece of cheese cake.

Solution

  • Step 1: As the model contains inner structure, we split it into different parts for the convenience of printing and post-processing. Supports are necessary to avoid transformation.
  • Step 2: As it is a display model and needs good painting effect, we recommend using SLA 3D printing technology. It can produce models with complex designs, intricate details and a smooth surface. SLA Generic Resin is good enough for making such a display model.
  • Step 3: Rinse the parts with IPA and post-cure them in a UV chamber. Then remove the supports and marks with a grater and sandpaper. Spray with putties and paint them by hand according to the blueprint.
  • Step 4: Assemble the parts together and fix with superglue.
