About Project

The Yanqing National Sliding Centre held the bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton events for the 2022 Winter Olympics. It's also known as “The House of Speed”. The track has 16 curves with different angles and slopes.

Solution

  • Step 1: As the model is scaled down from a quite large playing field, some details are lost. Our engineers help the client examine all the models and advise simplifying some of the details while thickening others.
  • Step 2: We split the parts for the convenience of printing, arrange them in software and add necessary supports. Then 3D print them with SLA Tough Resin. The layer thickness we set is 0.05mm and we control the tolerance within ±0.1 mm.
  • Step 3: When printing is completed, rinse the models with IPA and post-cure them with UV. Cut off all the supports and marks with scissors and graters, then polish with sandpaper. Try to assemble all the parts.
  • Step 4: Spray with putties and paint the parts with airbrushes, then coat them with clear acrylic oil. Paint the models as the blueprint, then connect them and fix them with superglue.
