About Project

In the opening ceremony of 2022 Winter Paralympics, Beijing has customed 600 pieces of ski pole props with SLA 3D printing technology and assembled LED inside, and arranged them into three Agitos, the Paralympic symbol.

Solution

  • Step 1: Check the STL files, especially the minimum details. The ski pole models are hollowed, they consist of three parts and have annular joint structures.
  • Step 2: Arrange the parts in software and add necessary supports. Then 3D print them with SLA Generic Resin and SLA Clear Resin considering the structure and transparency requirements. The layer thickness we set is 0.1mm.
  • Step 3: When printing is completed, rinse the models with IPA and post-cure them with UV. Cut off all the supports, then polish with sandpaper.
  • Step 4: Dye the clear parts with appointed colors. Assemble all the parts together with LED.
