This project features a WJP full-color 3D printed designer toy made for an independent toy designer. The character, “CHAD,” comes with blond hair, a red tank top, flexed arms, black shorts, flame effects, and the kind of facial expression that says he definitely skips leg day only in alternate universes.

WJP full-color 3D printing was used to produce the figure directly in color, which was ideal for the bright character palette, fire gradient, skin tone, hair, clothing, and small printed details. The result works well as a designer toy prototype because the client can review the whole character mood without waiting for mold making or manual painting.

FacFox also helped the client source packaging samples from manufacturers in China, including the colorful flame-themed box and clear blister tray. After the figure and package were ready, we packed the toy on behalf of the client, creating a more complete one-stop service from printed figure to boxed product sample. Challenge

The challenge was to deliver a packaging-ready designer toy sample, not just a loose printed figure. The client needed the WJP full-color figure, transparent blister tray, printed outer box, display window, and final packing to work together as one retail-style prototype.

This meant coordinating several practical details: figure output, blister fit, box sampling, window visibility, front-facing display effect, and safe packing. The goal was simple: make the sample ready for client review, photos, and quotation discussions for the next production step.

Solution

• Step 1: The designer toy model was reviewed before production, including the character pose, facial expression, hair shape, muscular arms, flame base, handheld flame accessory, and visible color zones.
• Step 2: The file was prepared for WJP full-color 3D printing so the figure geometry and color information could be produced together from the digital model.
• Step 3: The figure was printed in full color, preserving the skin tone, yellow hair, red tank top, black shorts, fire gradient, and small graphic details on the flame accessory.
• Step 4: The printed figure was inspected for character readability, color coverage, small detail clarity, standing stability, and overall designer-toy presentation.
• Step 5: FacFox helped source packaging samples from Chinese suppliers, including a printed outer box with flame graphics and a transparent blister tray for display and protection.
• Step 6: The figure was placed into the blister tray and boxed, allowing the client to review the complete retail-style sample instead of only the loose printed figure.
• Step 7: The final packed sample was checked for figure visibility through the window, box alignment, blister fit, front display effect, and overall shelf-ready appearance.
