Some mascot designs are small, but they carry a whole place, culture, or story in their visual details. This ethnic-inspired girl mascot figurine appears to draw from traditional minority costume elements, with a silver-style headdress, neat hair bun, purple-green outfit, large expressive eyes, and a simple round display base.

The figure has the friendly look of a tourism mascot or cultural IP character: easy to recognize, easy to display, and charming enough to work as a souvenir, promotional figure, or collectible sample. Challenge

The visible challenge was to reproduce the small headdress ornaments, fringe-like details, facial expression, clothing colors, and matte PolyJet surface while keeping the mascot cute and recognizable.

Solution

• Step 1: The mascot model was reviewed before printing, and delicate areas such as the silver-style headdress, raised ornaments, fringe details, hair bun, facial features, arms, clothing edges, and display base were checked for manufacturability.
• Step 2: Full-color material settings were assigned to different parts of the model, including the dark hair, pale headdress, purple-green outfit, skin tone, eye details, shoes, and dark round base.
• Step 3: Support structures were generated around the headdress, head, arms, clothing details, and base connection to keep the small raised features stable during PolyJet printing.
• Step 4: The figurine was produced with PolyJet 3D printing, where photopolymer materials were jetted and UV-cured layer by layer to form the full-color character and small decorative details in one integrated print.
• Step 5: After printing, support material was carefully removed from the headdress, fringe-like ornaments, face, arms, and lower body, while the slightly textured matte surface was kept as part of the printed finish.
• Step 6: The finished mascot figurine was inspected from the front, side, and back to confirm that the cultural costume details, facial expression, color contrast, and display base were properly reproduced.
