About Project

Pet keepsakes are at their best when they feel small enough to carry, but detailed enough to recognize. These custom orange cat keychain figurines were designed as two cartoon-style cat models, each with its own personality: one rounder and softer, the other dressed in a tiny outfit for an extra playful touch.

Although the shapes are cute and simplified, the details still matter. The orange fur gradients, rounded cheeks, soft chest texture, glossy eye highlights, tiny pink noses, and calm little expressions all help the cats feel familiar instead of generic. The small loop on top also makes the models practical as keychain charms, with the metal ring inserted into a hole at the top of each head.

WJP full-color 3D printing was a lovely fit for this project because it helped reproduce the warm orange fur tones, subtle hair texture, expressive eyes, delicate nose details, and soft matte finish directly from the digital models. For pet owners, artists, and gift brands creating custom animal keepsakes, FacFox provides professional WJP full-color 3D printing services for personalized pet figurines and keychain prototypes. Challenge

The visible challenge was to reproduce the cats’ soft orange fur gradients, cartoon expressions, glossy eye highlights, delicate noses, and small top holes for keychain assembly.

Solution

  • Step 1: The cat models were checked before printing, and small areas such as the ears, faces, chest fur, paws, clothing, tail, and top holes for the keychain rings were reviewed for manufacturability.
  • Step 2: The full-color texture data was prepared for WJP 3D printing, including the orange fur gradients, cream-colored chest areas, pink noses, black eyes, eye highlights, and clothing details.
  • Step 3: Full-color photopolymer resin materials were jetted and UV-cured layer by layer, allowing the rounded cat shapes, soft color transitions, and fine surface details to be formed in one integrated print.
  • Step 4: After printing, support material was carefully removed from delicate areas such as the ears, cheeks, paws, tail, clothing folds, and top loop holes.
  • Step 5: The printed cat figurines were cleaned and inspected to make sure the fur texture, facial expressions, eye highlights, nose details, and matte surface remained clear.
  • Step 6: Metal rings were inserted into the top holes, and the finished keychain figurines were checked to confirm that both cats were display-ready and suitable for everyday carrying.
