Ahoy, fellow anime enthusiasts and 3D printing aficionados! Today, we're diving into the Grand Line of creativity with a project that brought the beloved Thousand Sunny from One Piece to life, right here in our office.

We have a die-hard One Piece fan amongst our colleagues, and what better way to show our appreciation than by gifting him his very own Thousand Sunny? We found a 3D model online, split into multiple parts for easy printing, and set our FDM printer to work.

Now, let's be honest, this wasn't a flawless voyage. Being a downloaded model and printed on our in-house FDM printer, the finish was a tad rough around the edges. But that's the beauty of 3D printing – it's a journey of learning and iteration!

We carefully selected filaments in colors that matched the Sunny's iconic palette, printing each piece separately before assembling them into the magnificent ship. Our colleague, the lucky recipient, then took the helm, adding his personal touch. He applied One Piece stickers to the sails, bringing them to life, and even used a marker pen to paint one sail with the distinctive red and black stripes, just like in the anime.

The result? A truly unique and personalized Thousand Sunny that proudly graces his desk. It's a testament to the power of 3D printing to bring our favorite fictional worlds into reality.

Solution

• Step 1: A 3D model was downloaded from the internet, specifically designed to be split into multiple parts for 3D printing.
• Step 2: The model was then segmented into individual pieces using 3D modeling software, ensuring each piece could be printed separately.
• Step 3: The files were prepared for FDM 3D printing using slicing software.
• Step 4: Filaments of corresponding colors were selected to match the Thousand Sunny’s color scheme.
• Step 5: Each piece was printed individually using an FDM 3D printer, layer by layer.
• Step 6: The printed parts were removed from the printer bed and any support structures were carefully detached.
• Step 7: The individual pieces were assembled into the complete Thousand Sunny model.
• Step 8: The boat was further sanded and decorated for a better appearance.
