With the new Cornwall Space Port and a growing number of space-bound projects (including Virgin Galactic), the UK is becoming a key hub for space exploration and tourism. Now the Satellite Applications Catapult, a UK-based technology and innovation company, is contributing to the space ecosystem’s growth by installing a new MetalFAB1 system from Additive Industries, as part of an investment from the Buckinghamshire Local Enterprise Partnership, through the Getting Building Fund. The machine will be installed at the Satellite Applications Catapult’s Disruptive Innovation for Space Centre (DISC) at Westcott Venture Park where it will be available for UK companies to use from July 2021.

A United States patent filed by Mr. Daniel Clark of Topshelf Enterprises (T3DP) and Southern Methodist University claims technology similar to xolo’s volumetric process. Mr. Clark points to his patent as occupying the field in which xolo has released a product.

1zu1 buys EOS P 500, assesses system as most productive on the market Decision Makers

EOS, a leading supplier for responsible manufacturing solutions based on industrial 3D printing technology, has completed extensive testing of its EOS P 500 polymer system, assessing production suitability for series applications together with its Austrian customer 1zu1 Prototypen from Dornbirn. Together, both have concluded that the system has the highest overall system effectiveness available on the market in terms of uptime, performance, and quality for industrial 3D manufacturing solutions. As a result, 1zu1 has now purchased two EOS P 500 polymer systems, enabling it to process customer orders even faster.

Thermwood expands LSAM product line yet again with larger LSAM 1540 Decision Makers

Thermwood Corporation, the manufacturer of the LSAM large-scale thermoplastic composite additive systems, is introducing new and larger machine models: the LSAM 1540 and 1520. The LSAM additive manufacturing system line is already the broadest in the industry with additive printers from a 5×5 foot table to large dual gantry print and trim systems up to 10×40 feet. Machines longer than 40 feet are available, but several 10×40 systems are the largest built to date.
