About Project

Congratulations on the success of the Colorful Yunnan rural marathon. The sponsors held 100 standard marathon contest in 100 consecutive days, which covers a distance of 4219.5 kilometers. The marathon route passed over 49 counties in 21 cities of Yunnan, and runners together with the audience can feel the beauty of the countryside. The beautiful trophy is designed for the winners as a praise of their spirit.
We firstly printed a resin model of the trophy for prototyping. After several revisions, the designer and the sponsors finally decided on the plan they are satisfied with. Then we use SLS 3D printing technology to make the trophy with stainless steel. The trophy is silk printed with the names of the winners.

Solution

• Step 1: 3D modeling based on the blueprint of the designer
• Step 2: Printing the prototype of the trophy with an SLA 3D printer.
• Step 3: Revise the model according to the opinions of the sponsors.
• Step 4: 3D printing the revised model for verification.
• Step 5: SLS printing the trophy with stainless steel.
• Step 6: Post-processing includes support removal, sandblasting, polishing and silk screen printing.
