About Project

FacFox offers toy prototyping and production and has ample experience working with major toy designers and toy companies on their projects. A toy prototype or product from FacFox is a model that can be used for visualization, experimentation, or market research. FacFox also offers small to medium production runs of toy parts.

In this case, we customized five resin figures of cute baby dragons. They are the mascots of a game art studio. Each of them has different colors and wears different expressions, indicating that the studio welcomes various types of employees.

Solution

  • Step 1: 3D print the figures in one-piece using SLA Generic Resin(White). The UV-cured resin prints can display fine details, sharp edges, and smooth finish. Color availability is limited, but it is easily paintable and can also be translucent or transparent. It allows for a lot of post-processing, like painting, polishing, sandblasting, electroplating, nano printing, screen printing, etc.
  • Step 2: Take off the prints carefully from the 3D printer. Soak and wash them with isopropyl alcohol. Then post-cure them with UV. Use a grater and other tools to remove the marks left on the models.
  • Step 3: Painting is the most labor-consuming process in this case. We would communicate with our client in advance with reference to the Pantone Color Guide. Our painters always try their best to realize the design.
  • Step 4: Brush the models with UV oil and make them look glossy.
