About Project

Made with FDM 3D printing technology and PLA filaments, the power claw is a combat-oriented hand replacement consisting of a mechanical hand with a hooked claw on each finger. It's designed and painted to look battle-scarred.

Solution

  • Step 1: The model designer has offered the printing details of the whole model, including the nozzle diameter, infill rate, temperature and printing speed, etc. We just need to follow his instructions.
  • Step 2: 3D print the part with FDM 3D printing technology using FDM Flashforge PLA as PLA has a large color range for selection.
  • Step 3: Take the print from the plane. Adding a raft or skirt would make this process easier.
  • Step 4: Polish the print manually with a grater and sandpaper to remove the remaining marks.
  • Step 5: Assemble the parts together into the power claw, spray the putty with airbrushes and paint by hand using acrylic paints.
