The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210鈥209 BCE with the purpose of protecting the emperor in his afterlife.
The terracotta army figures were manufactured in workshops by government laborers and local craftsmen using local materials – yellow earth. Heads, arms, legs, and torsos were created separately and then assembled by luting the pieces together.
We made a scaled-down version of one of the famous Terracotta Warrior with SLM printing technology. There are rich details in the less-than-10cm-high miniatures. And it's printed in one piece, no more need to create the parts separately.
