A medical school ordered this half-brain model as a teaching aid. PolyJet technology can create prototypes that look, feel and operate like finished products, without the need for painting or assembly. The composition of brain could have different colors and the shell could be clear and transparent.
Solution
Step 1: Add soluble PolyJet supports with materials that can let you create complex 3D printed parts and models with no restrictions on geometry.
Step 2: A carriage jets photopolymers onto the workspace, which are then cured by a UV light. After a thin layer is created, the process repeats itself by jetting additional layers until the part is fully formed.
Step 3: Remove the supporting structure by rinsing the model with water and isopropanol (IPA).
Step 4: Spray with clear acrylic oil the make the surface look better.
