About Project

An engine or motor is a machine designed to convert one form of energy into mechanical energy. Heat engines, like the internal combustion engine, burn a fuel to create heat which is then used to do work. Electric motors convert electrical energy into mechanical motion, pneumatic motors use compressed air, and clockwork motors in wind-up toys use elastic energy. In biological systems, molecular motors, like myosins in muscles, use chemical energy to create forces and ultimately motion.
Although 3D printed engine/motor with PLA or ABS plastic is not functional enough, there is no problem using the technology to make mock-ups and models. It looks just like a metal model after sprayed with silver metallic paint.

Solution

  • Step 1: Checking the 3D model and communicating about the client’s requirements.
  • Step 2: SLA 3D printing the engine model with Black Tough Resin and post-curing with UV after support removal.
  • Step 3: Sanding the model and coating with silver metallic spray.
