Although our industrial FDM 3D printer can make 2-meter-long products, some clients still choose to split the parts. Here are two advantages: a more stable shape and less freight. When the size gets bigger, there is a larger risk of deformation, so splitting the part can help to control the shape. Another factor is transportation. Shipping by airplane can cost a lot of money, while shipping by steamboat can cost you more than a month.
Solution
Step 1: Split the 3D model, manufacture parts of the enclosure with industrial large-format FDM 3D printers using FDM PC.
Step 2: Cut off supports and polish with sandpaper, especially the junction part. Pack the parts with thick foam.
Step 3: When the client receives the parts, he can lay them on flat ground and glue them with superglue.
