The structure of this full-scale toilet model is quite the same as a real toilet. The lid and seat can both be lifted. Making such a big model with SLA 3D printing technology would be out of budget for some people. If you just need it for appearance verification, FDM printing technology can also fulfill your requirement.

Solution

• Step 1: As the whole toilet is an assembly work, we need to examine its structure and tolerances.
• Step 2: Then we arrange the placement and add supports in software. When printing such large parts, we need to add enough supports to ensure it won’t transform during manufacturing.
• Step 3: 3D print different parts of the toilet with FDM ABS M30 using our industrial 3D printer, which can print 2m long models. This material is ideal for concept models and moderate requirement parts including functional prototypes, jigs, fixtures, manufacturing tools and production parts.
• Step 4: When printing finished, cut off the supports, and polish with sandpaper to make the surface smooth.
• Step 5: Try to assemble the whole toilet and adjust the shape until the models totally fit.
