A shoe designer was developing a new series and found us to print the prototypes for the decorations on the vamp. After a few trials, he got some experience: 1. The sewing lanes need to be considered when designing the decorations; 2. The rim of these decorations should be thin for sewing and the center should be thick enough to be eye-catching.
Solution
Step 1: Check the model sent from the client. Process the model in 3D slicer software.
Step 2: Produce the sole with SLS 3D printing technology using TPU powders.
Step 3: Smooth out the surface of TPU prints with chemical vapor.
Step 4: The client tries to assemble it on his shoes and makes some revisions to the model. Then we print the new version for him.
