About Project

A student has designed the sandal as her graduation project, called “Swing”. She drew a 3D model using Rhino 3D and ordered a resin print. Nowadays many art colleges have purchased 3D printers, but plating and other post-processing still need professional services.

Solution

  • Step 1: The client exported the STL file from Rhino 3D and then send it to us for examination. After we confirm the required number, material, painting effect, and dimension, a quote is offered to the client.
  • Step 2: We arrange the parts in software and add the necessary supporting structure. Then 3D print them with SLA Tough Resin. The layer thickness we set is 0.1 mm and the tolerance is controlled within ±0.2 mm.
  • Step 3: When printing is completed, rinse the models with IPA and post-cure them with UV. Cut off all the supports, then polish with sandpaper.
  • Step 4: Place the prints into a vacuum chamber, vaporize the metal using a filament, then rotate the parts to ensure even deposition of the metal vapor.
