About Project

Doctors and nurses from the best hospitals around China came to Wuhan, Hubei in February, which is where the coronavirus outbroke. They devoted a lot of time and patience, also risked their lives to save people. We design the medals, print them, and send them to the medical workers as gifts and souvenirs.
There is the Yellow Crane Tower on the front side of the medal, which is a famous ancient architect in Wuhan. It's surrounded by clouds, plants, a red cross and the name of each medical worker. On the backside, we wrote a poem to them to show our gratitude and love.
The medals are printed in nylon with SLS 3D printers, and then sanding, polishing, and electroplating to make them look like metallic.

Solution

• Step 1: Design and 3D model the medal.
• Step 2: SLS 3D print with nylon.
• Step 3: Sanding and polishing.
• Step 4: Electroplating with chromium.
