The 2-meter-tall goddess statue is the most beautiful and jaw-dropping model we have ever printed this year. The complicated patterns on her wings, the gorgeous cloud base, and her long curly hair, all costs a lot with traditional sculpting methods. But with 3D printing, the lifelike goddess can be made within $3,000.
Solution
Step 1: As the statue is too large, we first split the model into the upper body, legs, and the cloud base. Then arrange the placement in slicing software, and add supporting structure.
Step 2: Check the models and 3D print different parts with SLA Generic Resin. After finish printing, we clear the supports and excess materials by soaking them into IPA.
Step 3: Color with prime paint, black and metallic gold paint with airbrushes. Spray with UV-oil.
Step 4: Enhance the parts with fiberglass and fix them with steel. Then glue all the parts together.
