This St.John's head sculpture is a rough trial as a client's first modeling achievement. This sculpture could be hung on the wall as a home decoration. Due to a tight budget, the layer lines are obvious as it is unpolished and the layer thickness is 0.5mm.
Solution
Step 1: The client downloads the model from the Internet and asks us to offer the quoting on different scales. Printing with a thicker layer of 0.5mm would lower the cost.
Step 2: We input the 3D model into the slicing software and add supporting structures. SLA Generic Resin is chosen for this application as it’s the cheapest resin for printing models with fine details.
Step 3: Take out the print and wash it with IPA to remove excess materials. Post-cure it with UV. The client prefers to do the rest post-processing by himself to decrease the cost.
