The studio took the advantage of FDM printing technology and designed this vase. It has like silk-like surface. To print such a medium-size art piece, the industrial FDM 3D printers are much more stable.
Solution
Step 1: Examine the STL files and communicate with our clients about their requirements. After both confirm the size, structure, material and finishing, we input the 3D model into the slicing software and add support structure.
Step 2: 3D print the vases with our industrial 3D printer. The filament chosen by the client is clay filament.
Step 3: Take out the prints and wash them with IPA to remove excess materials and supports. Sand and polish the prints to remove marks and bumps. Then post-cure them with UV.
Step 4: Paint all the parts with reference to the blueprints. Then glue them together.
