About Project

Bao Zheng today is honored as the cultural symbol of justice in Chinese society. He is often portrayed wearing a judge's hat and a crescent moon on his forehead. There is a large old statue of Bao Zheng in a village. Instead of rebuilding it, villagers decided to scan the statue and make scaled-down replicates with 3D printing.

Solution

  • Step 1: Our engineer scans the giant statue using a high-precision handheld 3D scanner.
  • Step 2: Scans of the models usually have many deficiencies, and we need to repair the broken meshes and add some details.
  • Step 3: Change the scale and add supporting structures. The models are then sent to the SLA 3D printer for production using SLA Generic Resin.
  • Step 4: Post cure it with UV. Clear the prints with IPA to remove excess materials. Polish with sandpaper.
