This resin tunnel model is designed and customed for a train set. The big railway hobbyists prefer to build accessories by themselves, including bridges, buildings, harbors, and other urban landscapes.
Solution
Step 1: The client builds the whole model with Solidworks, and exports the STL file for printing. We need to examine the model and help him split it into the main body and the cap. As LED wire needs to be put inside, enough hollow and wall thickness should be concerned.
Step 2: We arrange the parts in software and add necessary supports. Then 3D print them with SLA Tough Resin. It’s a yellowish resin with improved mechanical properties. The layer thickness we set is 0.05 mm and we control the tolerance within 卤0.1 mm.
Step 3: When printing is completed, rinse the models with IPA and post-cure them with UV. Cut off all the supports, then polish with sandpaper.
Step 4: Color the parts according to the blueprints. Install the LED and assembly the parts together into one piece.
