About Project
Meet the toughest, most charming little worker you’ll see all day. Decked out in a bright orange jumpsuit and a matching hard hat, this tiny miner is ready to get to work with a trusty shovel in hand. If you look closely, the details are honestly incredible—there are silver safety stripes on the shoulders, a fully loaded utility belt, and a look of pure, friendly determination on his face. He perfectly captures that proud, hardworking spirit of the mining community.
This little guy was actually created for a pretty cool reason. A mining company wanted a unique way to stand out and invite new people to join their team. Let’s be real: corporate flyers and boring brochures usually end up in the trash. But a custom figurine like this? It’s an instant conversation starter at job fairs, giving potential recruits something memorable to hold onto while showing them that the company genuinely values and celebrates its workers.
Seeing the smooth color transitions and sharp details in person makes you realize just how far manufacturing tech has come. If you want to bring your own mascot or promotional ideas to life with this kind of vibrant, realistic detail, elevate your next recruitment campaign by utilizing FacFox’s full-color 3D printing services.
Solution
- Step 1: The digital 3D model of the miner figurine was meticulously designed and optimized for full-color printing using specialized CAD software.
- Step 2: The finalized digital file was imported into the Mimaki 3D printing software, where color profiles were adjusted and optimal orientation on the build platform was selected.
- Step 3: The model was sliced into thousands of micro-thin horizontal layers, and the print instructions were sent directly to the high-precision Mimaki 3D printer.
- Step 4: Liquid photopolymer resins were jetted layer by layer onto the build tray through advanced inkjet print heads, while millions of distinct color combinations were simultaneously applied to recreate the vivid orange and detailed gradients.
- Step 5: Each newly deposited layer was immediately cured and hardened by an integrated UV LED light source, solidifying the resin instantly during the printing process.
- Step 6: A specialized water-soluble support material was automatically printed alongside the figurine to prop up overhanging parts, such as the miner’s shovel and outstretched arms.
- Step 7: The completed figurine was removed from the printing chamber and submerged in a water bath, where the support structure was entirely dissolved away without damaging the delicate features.
